Abdel Rahman Elamin Ahmad is a graduate of the University of Khartoum (U of K), Faculty of Economics ‎and Social Studies, Department of business Administration, Accounting Division. He graduated in May 1981 ‎and was awarded Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting scoring Division one. In the same year he was ‎awarded the Faculty of Economic Prize for the same year as the best student in the final year.

After graduation he joined the Auditor ‎General Chambers, (the government body responsible for audit of government owned entities) as assistant ‎audit inspector and was then promoted to audit inspector.‎

In 1970 Elgasim started preparation for the examinations of the Association of Chartered Certified ‎Accountants of U.K (ACCA) as a full time student at South West London College. In 1973 he completed the ‎examination successfully and was awarded the status of an associate member in 1976 and fellow member ‎‎(FCCA) IN 1981.‎

During the years 1973 to 1977 Elgasim worked as a full time lecturer at the College of Business Studies in ‎Khartoum, teaching accounting, auditing, taxation, and responsible for training. During his teaching era in the ‎college of Business Studies and based on special arrangements with the college, he worked as a part – time ‎Finance Manager of Sakris Izmoriam Group of companies where he introduced budgets and budgetary ‎control systems for the group.‎

Elgasim also worked as Finance Manager in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the period 1980 to 1985 for ‎a large manufacturing company.‎

In 1986, Elgasim started his practice as a Certified Accountant and Auditor in Sudan by forming a ‎professional partnership with Dr. Banaga under the name of: BANAGA & GASIM , representative of Arthur ‎Young International. He acted as the managing partner of the firm for the period 1986 to 1993. Elgasim ‎introduced and applied Arthur Young audit approach in the conduct of professional assignments at Khartoum ‎practice during that period. His client's included different kinds of businesses such as banks and financial ‎institutions, trading, manufacturing, agriculture, services and have different legal forms such as limited ‎liability companies, partnerships and sole proprietorships.‎

In 1994, Elgasim was asked by his partner, Dr. Banaga to join the practice of KPMG-Nazer and Banaga, ‎Saudi Arabia as an audit manager. Subsequently, Elgasim was chosen to start the tax practice for the newly ‎established KPMG-Saudi Arabia and later on he was promoted to Tax Director responsible for tax and zakat ‎services of KPMG in the whole Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and managing international tax advisory services ‎for the three offices in Jeddah, Riyadh and Khobar. During his services with KPMG, Elgasim also prepared ‎accounting and internal control systems for a variety of clients, established the tax and zakat department, ‎rendered International tax Advisory Services for reputable international clients of the firm and provided other ‎related professional services of many types.‎

Elgasim is well known in Sudan for his integrity and his contributions in the development of the accounting ‎profession in Sudan as he used to teach and train many students and accountants in Sudan and the ‎Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for (SOCPA ,and CPA) ,as well as in Sudan for (ACCA) to gain their professional ‎qualifications. And was the Vice president of the Sudanese Council for Certified Accountants for two terms. ‎Elgasim returned to reside in Sudan on April 2009 and he is currently the managing partner of the practice in ‎Khartoum.‎ ‎

In May 1981 he joined Kenana Suger Company (Sudan) for one year, where he developed his accounting ‎experience through working in the various accounting and finance functions. During 1982 he joined Sudan ‎Development Corporation (SDC), a financial and investment institution owned by the Government of Sudan, ‎but financially and administratively independent, and also one of the main shareholders of Kenana Sugar ‎Company. He worked with SDC as a financial analyst responsible for follow up and appraisal of current ‎potential investments of the Corporation and advising the board of directors on major investments decisions.‎

At the end of 1982, Abdel Rahman joined Baeshen & Banaga- Saudi Arabia, Certified Public Accountants ‎and members of Arthur Young International. When Arthur Young Merged with Whinney Murray to form ‎Ernest and Young in 1992 and Dr. Banaga, the Senior Partner in the firm of Baeshen and Banaga, decided ‎to continue business in his own name and to become a member firm of KPMG, at that time Abdel Rahman ‎decided to continue with Dr. Banaga. In the same year Abdel Rahman passed the final examinations of the ‎Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) of the United Kingdom (UK) in June1992 and ‎became an associate member of the Association in November 1992, due to the wide and diversified ‎experience which he had gained prior to examinations. In 1997 he was awarded the status of a Fellow ‎member (FCCA). Abdel Rahman has got a long experience in the professional field of auditing, taxation, ‎zakat and related services such as financial advisory services, special assignments and other related ‎services. His experience is diversified in different industries such as banks, financial institutions, insurance ‎companies, manufacturing, general trade, agriculture, contacting, etc.‎

Abdel Rahman attended many training courses and seminars, which are related to the approaches and ‎methodologies of audit, due diligence, business advisory services, and transaction services. These courses ‎and seminars were conducted inside and outside the kingdom of Saudi Arabia by members of the ‎international firms in the region. He also participated in the provision of in-house training courses to staff.‎

The office used to have close contacts with KPMG Saudi Arabia, as most of the partners were associated ‎with KPMG.‎

Since 1986 the office used to train its staff in following modern audit approaches the methodologies which ‎were applied by big international auditing and accounting firms such as Arthur Young and KPMG. The office ‎has conducted a series of seminars and workshops to train its staff and to familiarize them with modern ‎methodologies and approaches of audit and other professional services.‎

In October 2017 , Abel Rahman has completed his online assessment for International Financial ‎Reporting and he has been awarded the certificate in International Financial Reporting ( CertIFR).‎
